What is Coaching?
The International Coach Federation (ICF)—the largest professional association of coaches—defines professional coaching as an “ongoing partnership that helps clients produce fulfilling results in their personal and professional lives.”
Through the collaborative process of coaching, clients deepen their learning about themselves and the opportunities and issues in their lives, improve their performance, and enhance their quality of life. Coaching clients have identified the following benefits from their coaching experience: increased self-awareness, setting clear & realistic goals, achieving a more balanced life, lower stress, self-discovery, improved self-confidence, a higher quality of life, better communication skills, and improved project completion.

Who is the International Coaching Federation?
The International Coach Federation (ICF) is the leading global organization dedicated to advancing the coaching profession by setting high standards, providing independent certification and building a worldwide network of trained coaching professionals. As a leading chapter of the International Coach Federation, ICF Toronto Chapter builds, supports and preserves the integrity of the coaching profession. Our members are business and personal coaches who follow professional standards set by the ICF and adhere to its code of ethics. We can help you hire a coach, become a coach or lead the transformation to a coaching culture. Come visit our booth at #750 to learn more!
Why is it important that a Coach has an ICF credential?
ICF members strive to achieve an ICF credential (ACC, PCC, MCC). ICF Credential-holders are part of a self-regulating group of elite coaches who provide accountability to clients and the coaching profession as a whole. They pursue and complete rigorous education and practice requirements that provide legitimacy to their commitment to excellence in coaching. Maintaining a credential requires continuous professional development. ICF members must comply with the ICF code of ethics, you can find these on the ICF Global website under Ethics: http://www.icfglobal.com
